Can You Put Games On iPod?

Many people see the iPod as as purely a music playing device but did you know that there is loads of gaming fun just waiting to be tapped into?

Overlooked with the hype that surrounded the launch of Apples movie store, you can access, buy and download games on iTunes. Now before you think of the likes of basic black and white games such as Solitaire take a look at the latest offering. Full color games including updated favorites such as Tetris are available along with Poker and Pac-Man to keep you busy on those boring commuter trips to and from work. Although the processing power and graphics are limited in current models it surely wont be long before the iPod is competing with the likes of Nintendo in the portable gaming market.

There are a couple of things that you need before you begin playing premium games on your iPod.

1 - A 5th generation I\pod, better known as the video iPod or later

2 - Upto date version of iTunes on your Mac or PC.

Older models of iPods and Nano’s are unfortunately not compatible and these games cannot be played directly in iTunes.

The process of the install and download is just as easy and straight forward as downloading music from iTunes. Reviews from other gamers and video tasters are there to help you decide on your purchase. Once payment is confirmed the download begins, this usually takes just a few minutes with a broadband connections and is stored in a new library labelled iPod games. The usual synchronisation takes place and the game appears on your device.

Currently due to the limitations of the iPods controls Apple have opted, sensibly, to keep the games simple. Arcade and puzzle games are the order of the day with the following games available at launch:
